Posted by Carlanne on June 16, 2009

Romance on the high seas conjures up visions of sails billowing, handsome swashbuckling pirates and damsels in distress.  However, reality is  romance on the high seas today is a much more modern vision:  no sails billowing, rarely is a real pirate handsome and today’s liberated woman is not about to be a damsel in distress.  Take as an example of today’ s vision of  cruising the high seas, Mariner of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean ship….

It is only 6 miles from the Marquis Los Cabos Resort to San Jose del Cabo, a quaint town that is working hard to freshen its image while maintaining its authenticity and colonial flavor.  I spoke with a gentleman who is a small restaurant business owner with deep involvement in the renovations and repairs of the city.  While owners of similar small businesses, most all family-owned and run, need the updating of the town, they are all adamant about keeping their culture and environment intact.   Read more about this at this link:  San Jose del Cabo Thursday night art walk

Marquis Los Cabos – a resort for all senses

Posted by Carlanne on June 12, 2009

Arriving at Marquis Los Cabos is like walking into the luxurious golden sun of Mexico.  I arrived late in the afternoon because of an airport snafu.    Everything took on a golden quality of light and air.  I was warmly greeted by a member of the guest relations department, offered a cold  cloth to freshen up and a refreshing glass of juice while the registration process was completed.  The bellman took my luggage and guided me to the casita that was to be my home for the next 3 days.

Marquis Los Cabos casita 704

Posted by Carlanne on June 12, 2009

Marquis Los Cabos, casita 704 is a 1 bedroom, 2 bath, approximately 1800 square foot casita (little house).  With living room, dining area, kitchenette and wet bar, one could comfortably throw a fairly large party if one had 50 or so intimate friends in Los Cabos to invite.  If you are planning a destination wedding, the casita is definitely the accommodations the bridal couple want to reserve.  Not only is it spacious enough for the pre-wedding party, it is a fabulous place to spend the honeymoon!
